Ruth Chou Simons is the founder of GraceLaced and the award-winning author of several books and Bible studies, including Beholding and BecomingWhen Strivings Cease, and Now and Not Yet. She is an artist, entrepreneur, podcaster, and speaker, using each of these platforms to sow the Word of God into people’s hearts. Ruth and her husband, Troy, are grateful parents to six boys—their greatest adventure. Ruth’s newest book is Home Is Right Where You Are, a children’s book based on Psalm 23.

In this episode, Ruth reminds us that when we make our home with God, we are never alone. He sees every sacrifice we make as we serve our families day after day, and He is working even through the seemingly mundane moments of motherhood.

Ruth explains, “It’s not all the big things you do that shape your children. It’s not whether or not you sent them to the right summer camp, or whether you had them in the right extra curricular activities, or whether you did the best homeschooling curriculum. It’s really the small things. The everyday things. Like whether or not you can laugh at yourself and say, ‘I’m sorry,’ and take time at night, not on your phone, but playing a game or giving each other back rubs. It’s the small things that make all the difference.”
